A few words about me

About Me

I am a counsellor who works with adults over the age of 18. Over the years, my role has brought me into contact with people from all walks of life, and this has strengthened my passion for helping others through counselling.

I see myself as a straight-talking counsellor who offers a safe space where you can talk openly and explore the things that are troubling you. I understand that starting counselling can feel like a big step, and my aim is to make the process as comfortable and supportive as possible.

Before training as a counsellor, I worked in agriculture and construction, and I have an in-depth working knowledge of running a business. This experience has given me a real understanding of the pressures and responsibilities that come with managing work, finances, and people — and how these can impact your mental health and wellbeing. It also allows me to connect with individuals from practical, hands-on backgrounds who may not always find it easy to talk about what they’re going through.

I have a genuine passion for helping people understand themselves better, so they can navigate their own journey with greater awareness and self-confidence. Over time, I have developed a particular interest in working with men who may find it harder to reach out and say, “Can we have a chat?” I want to provide a confidential, approachable space for men — and for anyone who feels ready — to examine their life and consider new ways forward.

Alongside this, I also work with those experiencing loss and bereavement. Grief is a deeply personal journey that can feel overwhelming, isolating, or confusing. I aim to offer a compassionate and supportive space where you can talk openly about your loss, begin to process your feelings, and find a way of moving forward while honouring your experience.

My way of working is person-centred, which means the focus is on you and what you need. Many of the people I work with experience anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, burnout, or grief. My goal is to equip you with tools and insight that can help you manage these challenges and move forward in life with resilience and clarity.

If you are considering counselling, please know you don’t have to face things alone. I would be glad to walk alongside you as you take the next steps on your journey.
